This is the second adventure for our Bed and Breakfast ‘Le Petit Matin’ in this beautiful town of Bayeux. Originally located on ‘rue Quincangrogne’ for 8 years, we decided to move to our new home that offers more spacious and comfortable guest rooms.
Located in the heart of the historic town of Bayeux, on the ‘Place Charles de Gaulle’ planted with 150 lime trees and classified a ‘Natural Monument’ in 1932, ‘Le Petit Matin’ welcomes you warmly.
For us, morning is an important time of the day (hence the name of our bed and breakfast!), too often sacrificed. We therefore wanted to ensure our guests experienced a truly memorable moment, full of tranquillity and authenticity, around a hearty breakfast in the beautiful and completely renovated building dating back to the late 17th and 18th centuries.
The house is located next to the old Bayeux porcelain factory which has been run by three successive families (Langlois, Gosse and Morlent). We offer five guest rooms; each carefully decorated and personalized of our house.
We have attached particular importance to comfort, decoration and to our garden. All of the furniture and decorations in our house and guest rooms are authentic antique family furniture, found from bargain hunting or purchased locally at the auction house in Bayeux. Everything has been chosen, positioned and arranged with particular care and attention.
Our greatest pleasure is that you feel at home with us and that you keep wonderful and unforgettable memories of Normandy. We are ideally situated for exploring Bayeux, this beautiful historic town in the heart of Normandy, 15 minutes from the landing beaches, 20 minutes from Caen, 1 hour from Honfleur and Deauville and 2h40 from Paris.
It is also the ideal location to discover some of the most beautiful places in Normandy: The Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Bayeux, the Bayeux Tapestry Museum, the ‘MAHB’ an art museum dedicated to the history of the town of Bayeux, the Battle of Normandy Museum, the British War Cemetery, the Lace Conservatory etc.
